Description

Using this traditional procurement approach, the client contracts with an architect or an engineer to carry out the design, the appointed architect or engineer (or a project manager, if appointed) will also normally fill the role of the contract administrator. The client enters into a separate contract with the successful contractor after the tender / adjudication process that then carries out the building works. Under the traditional approach of procurement, the contract price is often based upon a Bill of Quantities provided by the client which quantifies, as far as possible, every aspect of the works.

Benefits
The client maintains a construction professional to look after their interests throughout the project lifecycle. There is cost certainty where the design is fully complete ahead of commencing works on site.
