a 9,200 square foot mixed use building to house the headquarters of the Barbados Red Cross Society. This two storey building featured a multi directional roof design and is constructed in traditional reinforced concrete floors and columns with rendered block external and internal partition walls. The external facade featured a number of feature work in the form of rebates and raised bands before being trowel plastic finished. Internally the space was a mix of disaster storage, office accommodation and a fully functioning commercial kitchen to provide meals on a daily basis for the ‘meals on wheels’ programme. Finishes internally include both ceramic tiled and vinyl tiled floors, painted rendered walls and acoustic drop ceilings. Localised air conditioning was also installed to the office areas. External car parking, landscaping and lighting was also provided under the scope of this contract.
